11.4 Using the One Button Studio

Links to an external site.The One Button Studio is an  alternative to doing a makeup class. You can film a lecture with a  slidedeck; write on a whiteboard that the students can see; have an interview with another lecturer. Below are some tips for using the One Button  Studio.

  • Wear light coloured clothing as the background of the video produced is black.
  • Have two people: one to move slides (if using ppt) and one to talk to them.
  • Once you have finished recording keep the lights on until you reach the door as the studio is blacked out.
  • Pick up the key from the Business School Reception on Level One of OGGB (Owen Glenn Building-260).
  • If you leave the studio before you have finished recording take the key with you so you can get back into the studio.
  • If you wish to have your face showing on your slides, the default is to the top right hand corner so leave a space on each of your slides for you

Book the One Button Studio, by using  the University’s Web Booking System to search for room 006A in Building 260.

Enter a minimum room capacity of “1”.Here is the link to the intranet page that contains the University Booking system.

Usually you have to book by 12 noon the previous day.
