Course description
This course explores the most advanced theories on professional learning for Chinese language teachers to ensure that their practice is critically informed and up-to-date. It is believed that by undertaking a wide range of high-quality, sustained professional learning experiences, teachers are more likely to inspire learners and provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences, enabling learners to achieve their best. Specifically focused on developing forefront teacher knowledge intercultural competence for those who are committed to teaching and researching Chinese as a Second Language (CSL). The aim of the course is to offer constructive support for teachers as they consider how they might develop their professional values and dispositions, their knowledge, skills and understanding through on-going critical self-evaluation and professional learning. Students will have hands-on opportunities to examine, reflect on and improve their own teaching experiences and performance.
