⭐ Module 2: Introduction to Teaching - preparation and delivery
In this compulsory module, you will be introduced to ideas, concepts and resources to support you in your role as a tutor. There are three sub-sections in this module:
- Getting Started - Putting Theory into Practice
- Communication
- Supporting learning - inclusion, engagement and addressing challenges
Purpose
This module relates to the following learning outcomes:
LO 1. Recognise and describe the expectations, parameters and responsibilities of GTAs/TAs in the Faculty of Engineering and Design.
LO 2. Outline and demonstrate key principles of good practice in the main teaching duties of GTAs/TAs.
LO 3. Communicate and facilitate learning activities effectively to support inclusive learning in teaching sessions.
LO 4. Demonstrate the application of relevant learning theories effectively in training scenarios and in providing feedback.
LO 5. Define and demonstrate an understanding of Te Ao Māori principles in teaching in interactions with students by treating them respectfully, ethically and honestly.
