Timesaving tips
Create a comment bank |
To save yourself from having to write the same sentence over and over again, create a Word document with your most common comments and copy and paste them in. You can and should also use the rubric ones. |
Maintain a bank of END comments |
Make specific comments throughout and more general comments at the end. General comments give the student a sense of what went right or wrong and how they might improve their work in future. Sandwiching a positive comment, followed by a negative comment and ending with a positive comment is a good structure. Be professional and bear in mind the sort of comments that help you with your work. |
Create a bibliographic bank |
To save you from having to remember which sources or cases you want to recommend and/or typing out the full references, create a Word document with a list of topics and some of the most important sources listed for each. This is also helpful if you want to evaluate whether your students have selected appropriate sources/cases or have missed important ones. |
Keep a record of common problems or interesting ideas | These make for valuable follow up discussions in tutorials. |
