How to edit and upload videos
There are a lot of professional video editing software packages out there with a variety of comprehensive functions for the user. Unfortunately, most of them are expensive and it takes quite a bit of time to learn how to use them. When it comes to editing videos, we usually only need the CUT, INSERT or TRIM functions which can be done with free applications already installed on our devices.
Suggestions:
- Windows Video Editor

- QuickTime Player

- iMovie

When you have finished editing your video, you can upload it to the University’s media storage site Panopto to be viewed by your students. You can give the video link to the students directly or upload the video or the link to Canvas. You can view more resources about Panopto. You could also upload your video to a YouTube channel but be aware that YouTube may insert ads. Remember to control who can view your video by adjusting the privacy settings.
