Course Description
This course introduces students to approaches to second language teaching and the theories of language and learning that underpin them.   

Aims of the course 

The aims of the course are to enable students to develop understanding of 

  • approaches to second language teaching
  • principles and practices in second language teaching  

 

Class information for Semester 2, 2019

Semester dates: 22 July – 18 November 

Classes: Tuesday 10:00 to 12:00           Location: Clock Tower Room 018 

There are 4 tutorials, each one focused on an assessment task.  

Time & location for all tutorials: Please check student services online  

Attendance at classes is essential, as you will need to draw on what has been discussed in class sessions, and the group tasks you complete, for your assignment and test work. Therefore LANGTCHG101 has a 75% minimum attendance requirement. You must attend at least 12 out of 16 classes (ie at least 9 out of 12 lectures and at least 3 out of 4 tutorials). If you attend less than this, you will receive DNC (Did Not Complete) for the course.
