ASSESSMENTS (All dates are NZ time)

 

Tutorial Preparation & Participation: 10%

Reading/Viewing Quizzes: 15%

Essay 2000 words 25%

Creative Project 10%

Final Test (2 hours): 40%

 

Tutorial Preparation & Participation:

Deadline: Fridays from March 30 and ending June 12

This assessment consists of 10 weekly tasks in preparation for and participation in weekly tutorial discussions. Each task is worth 1 mark. Tasks will vary over the course of the semester. Some may involve preparation while others will take place during the tutorial. Tasks may include sourcing images for discussion, preparing for and participating in a debate, playing an online game and sharing your experience, assignment prep or writing practice. Many of these exercises will help you prepare for your test and complete your coursework. The tutorial tasks are posted under ‘Assignments’ in CANVAS. Tutorial Tasks 1 & 2 are due by March 30th. Thereafter the tasks are due on CANVAS the day of your regularly scheduled tutorial.

 

Reading/Viewing Quizzes:

Deadline: the same day as the lecture for which the readings/viewings were assigned.

For each of the topics from Week 2 to Week 11 you will be required to complete an online quiz based on the required readings and essential viewing. For the readings and viewing please see “Reading List” or “Modules” in CANVAS.  The quizzes will be online and available under “Quizzes” in Canvas. Each quiz is worth 2 points. In total they are worth 15% of your overall mark. The number of questions in each quiz may vary.

 

Essay: 

Deadline: May 4 midnight to CANVAS

Length: 2000 words

Essay Topics will be available on CANVAS under “Assignments” from Week 2

 

Creative Project:

Deadline: June 5 midnight to the University of Auckland Web Dropoff and CANVAS

Details will be available on CANVAS under Assignments

CANVAS Quiz

Date:               TBC

Format:          Short essays

Length:           1500-2000 words

Conditions:   Open book; 24 hour window to complete

 

A review sheet will be distributed in Week 12
